Illumina's informatics suite, BaseSpace, integrates with sequencing instruments to manage samples, process raw data, and enable analysis. The company also offers DRAGEN Bio-IT Platform for secondary analysis and Illumina Connected Analytics for cloud-based multi-omic data management.
As of December 28, 2025, Illumina employed approximately 8,600 full-time employees, 50 part-time employees, and 1,430 contingent workers globally. The company maintains principal facilities in San Diego, California; Singapore; Cambridge, United Kingdom; and the San Francisco Bay Area, with additional operations in Madison, Wisconsin; Eindhoven, Netherlands; China; and India. International shipments represented 48 percent of total consolidated revenue in 2025. The company holds an extensive intellectual property portfolio comprising 1,380 issued U.S. patents and 7,653 issued patents outside the United States as of December 28, 2025.
