About 10x Insights
Who we are
10x Insights is a service provided by Datanapis, LLC, registered in California and based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
We are a small team with more than three decades in technology, built at large technology companies and as co-founders of startups, and we have been investors that whole time. This service is the one we wanted for ourselves and could not buy.
What we provide
High-quality, curated data sets from public filings — for funds and ETFs, for companies, and for the institutions that hold them. The point of all of it is to let individual investors understand what they own and make their own decisions about it.
That includes two kinds of investor, and we mean both. If you invest passively, this is how you find out what is actually inside the funds you hold, what each share class costs you, and how one fund compares with another you were considering. If you invest actively and are willing to put in the hours, this is the data and the tooling to make those hours go further.
As Charlie Munger put it, “opportunity comes to the prepared mind.” Our goal is to help you prepare — as efficiently as you can.
What you can do with it
You can now put a serious question to an AI client you already use — ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini — and the thing standing between you and a good answer is the quality of the data behind it.
So we make ours reachable from those clients directly, over MCP. Bring the questions you actually have — about the companies you hold, the industries you follow, the fund you are weighing up — and the answers come back built on the filings themselves, each one traceable to the document it came from. Follow a thread as far as it goes, whether you are getting to know an index fund you already own or building a position deliberately.
We are also packaging up the prompts and skills we use for our own analysis and sharing them as a research kit, so you have somewhere to start rather than a blank prompt — and something to build your own work on top of.
Where the numbers come from, how each source is parsed, and what each one does and does not cover is written up in our sources & method.
