The business

Baldwin Insurance Group, Inc. (NYSE: BG) operates as an independent insurance distribution firm providing comprehensive risk management, insurance, and employee benefits solutions to clients across the United States and internationally. The company's website is baldwin.com.

Baldwin serves over three million clients through approximately 5,000 colleagues, including roughly 900 risk advisors, operating from approximately 125 offices across 24 states. The firm maintains a partnership network of over 8,300 independent contracted agents, particularly supporting its Medicare business operations.

The company organizes its business into three primary operating groups. Insurance Advisory Solutions provides commercial risk management, employee benefits, and private risk management solutions for businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Underwriting, Capacity & Technology Solutions encompasses the Millennial Specialty Insurance platform, which manufactures proprietary technology-enabled insurance products distributed internally and externally, along with capacity solutions including reinsurance brokerage and captive management services. Mainstreet Insurance Solutions focuses on personal insurance, commercial insurance, and life and health solutions through sheltered distribution channels including homebuilders, realtors, and mortgage originators.

Baldwin's core products include commercial property and casualty insurance, employee benefits insurance, personal lines insurance, wealth management and retirement services, and Medicare solutions. The company generates revenues through commissions based on insurance premiums and fees for management and consulting services.

The firm's business strategy emphasizes reinvesting retained earnings into organic growth while pursuing strategic acquisitions of high-quality independent insurance brokers. Since 2020, Baldwin has completed partnerships with 37 firms representing $909 million in acquired revenue, including nine Top 100 firms. The company has invested significantly in its technology platform, sales infrastructure, and geographic expansion to enhance organic growth and capture a larger share of insurance transaction economics.

Baldwin competes with large global participants including Aon, Marsh & McLennan, Willis Towers Watson, and Gallagher, as well as private companies and regional firms. The company maintains relationships with numerous insurance company partners, with no material dependency on any single client or insurer.
