The company maintains three primary geographic segments for its exploration and production activities: the United States, Canada, and other international markets, along with a corporate segment handling administrative functions and risk management. In 2025, Murphy produced approximately 188,682 barrels of oil equivalent per day on a worldwide basis, representing a 2.4 percent increase from the prior year.

United States operations represent the largest portion of Murphy's production, accounting for roughly 90 percent of total liquids output. The company produces primarily from the Gulf of America, where it holds approximately 556 thousand gross acres, and from the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas, where it maintains approximately 130 thousand gross acres. Canadian operations include onshore assets in the Tupper Montney and Kaybob Duvernay formations, as well as non-operated offshore interests in the Hibernia and Terra Nova fields. International exploration and production activities occur in Brazil, Brunei, Côte d'Ivoire, and Vietnam, with a newly signed petroleum agreement in Morocco's Gharb Deep Offshore block.

As of December 31, 2025, Murphy's total proved reserves reached 730.0 million barrels of oil equivalent, comprising 268.7 million barrels of crude oil, 36.7 million barrels of natural gas liquids, and 2,547.7 billion cubic feet of natural gas. The company employed 813 people as of year-end 2025, consisting of 542 office-based employees and 271 field employees. Murphy maintains a commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, having established a Scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity reduction target of 15 to 20 percent by 2030 from 2019 baseline levels, excluding discontinued operations.
