The Run-off segment manages products no longer actively sold, including universal life with secondary guarantees, structured settlements, and pension risk transfer contracts. The Corporate & Other segment includes funding agreements and excess capital management.
As of December 31, 2025, Brighthouse Financial managed total assets under management of approximately $206.2 billion, consisting of $120.6 billion in general account investments and $85.5 billion in separate account assets. The Annuities segment held $152.7 billion in assets under management, while the Life segment held $15.8 billion. The company was separated from MetLife, Inc. on August 4, 2017, establishing itself as an independent, publicly-traded company focused on disciplined risk management and sustainable long-term shareholder value creation through its targeted product offerings and independent distribution strategy.
