As of August 30, 2025, AutoZone operated 7,657 stores across its markets, including 6,627 locations in the United States, 883 in Mexico, and 147 in Brazil. The company employs approximately 130,000 AutoZoners, with roughly 60 percent working full-time and 40 percent part-time. Approximately 91 percent of employees work in stores or direct field supervision, six percent in distribution centers, and three percent in store support and other functions.

AutoZone's core business centers on selling automotive hard parts, maintenance items, accessories, and non-automotive products. Each store carries approximately 20,000 to 25,000 unique SKUs, with 40 to 50 percent of space dedicated to hard parts inventory. The company operates specialized hub stores carrying 40,000 to 50,000 SKUs and mega hub stores with 80,000 to 110,000 SKUs to support surrounding locations with expanded inventory assortment. As of fiscal 2025, AutoZone operated 133 mega hub stores domestically and eight in Mexico.

The company's commercial sales program serves repair garages, dealers, service stations, fleet owners, and other accounts through 6,098 domestic stores and the vast majority of international locations. Commercial customers access products through www.autozonepro.com and mobile applications with prompt delivery and commercial credit options. AutoZone also operates ALLDATA, a brand providing automotive diagnostic, repair, collision, and shop management software through www.alldata.com.

AutoZone maintains exclusive in-house brands including Duralast and its family of brands, alongside Econocraft, ProElite, ShopPro, SureBilt, TotalPro, TruGrade, and Valucraft. The company's competitive advantages include its extensive store network, proprietary Z-net electronic catalog system, customer service focus, and omnichannel capabilities combining retail locations with e-commerce platforms. AutoZone's business model emphasizes superior customer service, merchandise quality and selection, competitive pricing, and convenient store locations as primary differentiators in the highly fragmented automotive aftermarket industry.
