The Dental Solutions segment accounts for 16.2 percent of sales and offers a comprehensive suite of dental and orthodontic products including brackets, aligners, restorative cements, and bonding agents spanning preventative care, direct and indirect restoration, and orthodontic needs. The Health Information Systems segment comprises 16.3 percent of sales and provides healthcare systems with software solutions for computer-assisted physician documentation, direct-to-bill and coding automation, classification methodologies, speech recognition, and data visualization platforms designed to eliminate revenue cycle waste and support value-based care.
The company employs approximately 20,000 people globally, with roughly 10,000 in the United States and 2,000 in Germany, and maintains sales presence in over 90 countries. Approximately 40 percent of employees have more than 10 years of tenure, and approximately 4,000 are production employees working in plants across the globe. Solventum maintains an extensive research and development organization of approximately 2,000 employees including research scientists, chemical engineers, data scientists, software engineers, and product developers.
Solventum was spun off from 3M Company as an independent publicly traded company, retaining significant commercial relationships with 3M during the transition. The company continues to leverage 3M's established infrastructure across certain geographies while investing in expanding independent capabilities. The company's solutions are present along a patient's journey through prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery, serving a diverse customer base ranging from multidisciplinary hospitals to local clinics and practices.
