The company manages solid waste operations through three geographic regional segments—Eastern, Western and Mid-Atlantic regions—each providing collection, transfer, recycling and disposal services. In fiscal year 2025, the Eastern region generated $472.6 million in revenues, the Western region $663.2 million, and the Mid-Atlantic region $341.1 million. The Resource Solutions operating segment, which is not geographically specific, contributed $360.0 million in revenues and focuses on delivering value-added resource management and sustainability-oriented solutions through materials processing, industrial recycling, organics services and National Accounts business offerings.

Casella operates nine Subtitle D landfills and one construction and demolition landfill across its footprint, along with numerous collection facilities, transfer stations and recycling and processing facilities. The company processes over 1.4 million tons of recyclable materials annually through its network of materials recovery facilities and operates landfill gas-to-energy and renewable natural gas generation projects. As of January 31, 2026, Casella employed approximately 5,600 employees, including roughly 1,100 in managerial, sales and administrative roles and approximately 4,500 in collection, transfer, disposal, recycling and operations roles.

The company pursues growth through a combination of acquisitions, organic expansion and strategic asset positioning. Since 2018, Casella has acquired 76 solid waste collection, transfer and recycling businesses with over $925 million in total annualized revenues. The company's business model emphasizes vertical integration, operational efficiency, pricing discipline and long-term disposal capacity optimization. Casella competes primarily on service quality, breadth of offerings and pricing, competing against national operators and regional providers while maintaining strong market positions in secondary and tertiary markets throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
