The business

PBF Energy Inc. (NYSE: PBF) operates as one of the largest independent petroleum refiners and suppliers of unbranded transportation fuels in the United States. The company's website is www.pbfenergy.com.

The company owns and operates six domestic oil refineries with a combined processing capacity of approximately one million barrels per day and a weighted-average Nelson Complexity Index of 12.8. These refineries are strategically located across the country: two on the East Coast in Delaware City, Delaware and Paulsboro, New Jersey; one in the Mid-Continent in Toledo, Ohio; one on the Gulf Coast in Chalmette, Louisiana; and two on the West Coast in Torrance and Martinez, California. The refineries process crude oil and other feedstocks into a diverse product portfolio including gasoline, ultra-low-sulfur diesel, heating oil, jet fuel, lubricants, petrochemical feedstocks, and asphalt. For 2025, gasoline and distillates accounted for 88.0 percent of revenues.

PBF Energy operates through two reportable business segments: Refining and Logistics. The Refining segment encompasses the six oil refineries and related logistics assets engaged in crude oil processing and petroleum product manufacturing. The Logistics segment, operated through PBF Logistics LP (PBFX), owns and operates crude oil and refined products terminals, pipelines, storage facilities, and similar logistics assets. PBFX generates approximately nine percent of its revenues from third-party transactions, with the remainder derived from long-term, fee-based commercial agreements with the refining operations.

The company distributes refined products throughout the Northeast, Midwest, Gulf Coast, and West Coast of the United States, as well as Canada, Mexico, and other international destinations. Shell plc represents the company's largest customer, accounting for approximately thirteen percent of revenues in 2025. The company maintains a diverse customer base, selling primarily through short-term contracts and spot market arrangements, supplemented by certain long-term product offtake agreements.

As of December 31, 2025, PBF Energy employed approximately 3,678 employees, of which 1,935 are covered by collective bargaining agreements with unions including the United Steel Workers, Independent Oil Workers, and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The company maintains corporate offices in Parsippany, New Jersey, with regional offices in Long Beach, California and The Woodlands, Texas.
