The company operates through three reportable segments. Global Distribution and Value-Added Services, representing 84.5 percent of consolidated net sales, distributes national brand and corporate brand merchandise, equipment, and related technical services to dental and medical markets. This segment includes dental merchandise at 36.6 percent of total sales, dental equipment at 13.6 percent, value-added services at 1.8 percent, and medical products at 32.5 percent. Global Specialty Products, comprising 11.7 percent of sales, manufactures and markets dental implants, biomaterials, endodontic, orthodontic, and orthopedic products. Global Technology, representing 5.1 percent of sales, develops and distributes practice management software, e-services, and technology-enabled products for healthcare providers, serving approximately 95,000 active dental practices.

Henry Schein stocks a comprehensive selection of more than 300,000 branded and corporate brand products. The company maintains competitive strengths through direct sales expertise, omni-channel marketing capabilities, efficient distribution infrastructure, cost-effective purchasing strategies, and superior customer service.
