Global Wealth & Investment Management provides wealth advisory, asset management, and investment services to high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients. Global Banking delivers lending, treasury management, and advisory services to large corporations and financial institutions. Global Markets offers trading, sales, and market-making services across equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities.

As of December 31, 2025, Bank of America employed approximately 213,000 people globally, with 77 percent located in the United States. The company maintains operations across the United States and international markets, including significant presence in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Mexico, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

The corporation is a Delaware-incorporated bank holding company and financial holding company subject to extensive regulation by the Federal Reserve, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Bank of America's U.S. bank subsidiaries are organized as national banking associations. The company's broker-dealer subsidiaries operate under Securities and Exchange Commission oversight, while its futures commission merchant subsidiary is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
