The business

Allstate Corporation (NYSE: ALL) operates as one of the largest publicly held personal lines insurers in the United States through its principal subsidiary, Allstate Insurance Company, and various other operating entities. The company maintains its website at www.allstate.com and serves customers through a diversified distribution network spanning exclusive agents, independent agents, and direct channels.

The company's business is organized into four reportable segments. Allstate Protection, which accounts for 93.9 percent of consolidated insurance premiums, offers private passenger auto, homeowners, and other personal lines insurance products under the Allstate, National General, Direct Auto, and Answer Financial brands. The Protection Services segment represents 5.0 percent of total revenue and encompasses Protection Plans, Roadside assistance, Dealer Services, Identity Protection, and Arity, which provides telematics-enabled mobility insights and services. The Run-off Property-Liability segment manages policies written from the 1960s through the mid-1980s with exposure to asbestos and environmental claims. The Corporate segment includes holding company activities and non-insurance operations.

As of December 31, 2025, Allstate maintained 211 million policies in force and employed approximately 53,000 full-time employees and 300 part-time employees. The company operates primarily throughout the United States and Canada, with Protection Plans also serving Europe and Asia. Allstate's investment portfolio totaled $83.24 billion as of year-end 2025.

The company's strategy focuses on two primary objectives: increasing personal property-liability market share and expanding protection offerings by leveraging the Allstate brand, customer base, and capabilities. Allstate Protection pursues a "Transformative Growth" approach centered on becoming a low-cost digital provider offering affordable, simple, and connected products through multiple distribution channels. The company emphasizes sophisticated pricing algorithms, telematics-based solutions including Drivewise and Milewise programs, and enhanced digital customer experiences.

Allstate maintains significant competitive advantages through brand recognition supported by its iconic "You're In Good Hands With Allstate" slogan, extensive distribution infrastructure, proprietary underwriting databases, and integrated protection service offerings that differentiate it in highly competitive personal lines insurance markets.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
