Subsequently, in January 2026, FIS completed the acquisition of the Issuer Solutions business from Global Payments while simultaneously selling its remaining Worldpay equity interest.

The company's competitive strengths include its globally recognized brand, extensive domain expertise spanning banking and capital markets, long-term client relationships characterized by high retention rates, advanced data and cloud-based technologies incorporating artificial intelligence and machine learning, and substantial global distribution capabilities. FIS operates through a disciplined build-buy-partner strategy focused on innovation, operational efficiency, and strategic capital allocation to support sustained growth.
