ADM transforms raw agricultural commodities into an expansive array of products serving the food, feed, fuel, and industrial and consumer products sectors. The company partners with thousands of farmers worldwide to purchase crops and processes them into value-added solutions. Its broad portfolio spans staple foods and innovative alternatives including natural colors and flavors, plant-based proteins, and lower-sugar, fat, and salt solutions. ADM provides human and animal nutrition ingredients, health and well-being products such as probiotics and enzymes, and serves as a key producer of biofuels converting agricultural feedstocks into renewable fuels.

The company operates through three reportable segments. Ag Services and Oilseeds handles global origination, merchandising, transportation, and storage of agricultural raw materials, plus crushing and processing of oilseeds including soybeans and soft seeds. This segment generated seventeen percent of revenues in 2025. Carbohydrate Solutions engages in corn and wheat wet and dry milling, producing sweeteners, starches, syrups, glucose, wheat flour, and dextrose, representing thirteen percent of revenues. Nutrition serves food, beverages, nutritional supplements, and complete feed markets with ingredients and solutions including plant-based proteins, flavors, colors, emulsifiers, probiotics, and enzymes.

ADM maintains a comprehensive transportation capability utilizing trucks, trailers, railroad cars, river barges, towboats, and ocean-going vessels. The company employs approximately 41,496 people across North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. The company holds a significant 22.5% equity interest in Wilmar International Limited, a Singapore-listed agribusiness group. ADM invests substantially in research and development focused on science-based products aligned with food security, sustainable processes, health, and personalized nutrition trends. The company owns trademarks, brands, recipes, and intellectual property with a net book value of $579 million, with over ninety-five percent concentrated in the Nutrition segment.
