This segment encompasses four product lines: Well Construction, Completions and Intervention, Production Solutions, and Subsea & Surface Pressure Systems. The IET segment combines domain expertise, technologies, and services for energy and industrial customers across applications including liquefied natural gas, pipeline infrastructure, refining, petrochemical, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage, and power generation. IET comprises five product lines: Gas Technology Equipment, Gas Technology Services, Industrial Products, Industrial Solutions, and Climate Technology Solutions.
The company recognized $29.6 billion in orders during 2025, with remaining performance obligations totaling $35.9 billion as of December 31, 2025. OFSE contributed $14.7 billion in orders while IET contributed $14.9 billion. The company invests substantially in research and development, spending $600 million annually and securing more than 1,400 patents worldwide in 2025.
Baker Hughes maintains strategic partnerships and licenses with GE Aerospace, GE Vernova, and GE HealthCare for critical intellectual property. The company announced a definitive agreement in July 2025 to acquire Chart Industries for $210 per share in cash, expected to close in the second quarter of 2026. Additionally, Baker Hughes completed the formation of a joint venture with Cactus, Inc. on January 1, 2026, and sold its Precision Sensors & Instrumentation business to Crane Company on the same date.
