The Integrated segment includes Jersey Central Power & Light Company, Monongahela Power Company, and Potomac Edison Company, representing a $10.2 billion rate base and serving approximately two million customers in New Jersey, West Virginia, and Maryland, while also operating 3,610 megawatts of regulated generation capacity. The Stand-Alone Transmission segment, consisting of FirstEnergy Transmission and Keystone Appalachian Transmission Company, represents a $5.4 billion FirstEnergy-owned rate base and operates high-voltage transmission facilities across the PJM region.

FirstEnergy's service territory encompasses approximately 65,000 square miles across Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, and New York, serving a population of approximately 14 million. The company operates more than 24,000 miles of transmission lines and maintains two regional transmission operation centers. As of December 31, 2025, FirstEnergy employed 11,186 employees located throughout the United States, with approximately 44 percent represented by unions including the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the Utility Workers Union of America.

The company's business model centers on regulated utility operations with cost-based rate structures established by state and federal regulatory authorities.
