The business
Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ: LNG) is a Houston-based energy infrastructure company and the largest producer of liquefied natural gas in the United States and the second-largest LNG operator globally based on total production capacity. The company's website is www.cheniere.com.
Cheniere operates two primary liquefaction facilities that together represent its core business. The Sabine Pass LNG Terminal in Cameron Parish, Louisiana, operates over 30 million tonnes per annum of production capacity and includes five LNG storage tanks with approximately 17 billion cubic feet equivalent of aggregate capacity, three marine berths, and a 94-mile natural gas supply pipeline called the Creole Trail Pipeline. The Corpus Christi LNG Terminal near Corpus Christi, Texas, has over 30 million tonnes per annum of total expected production capacity inclusive of debottlenecking opportunities, with three storage tanks, two marine berths, and a 21-mile natural gas supply pipeline.
The company's business model centers on long-term commercial contracts with integrated energy companies, utilities, and energy trading companies worldwide. Approximately 90 percent of anticipated production from its liquefaction projects is contracted through long-term sale and purchase agreements and integrated production marketing agreements with approximately 15 years of weighted average remaining life as of December 31, 2025. Uncontracted volumes are available for spot sales and short-term agreements through Cheniere Marketing, the company's integrated marketing function.
Cheniere owns a 100 percent general partner interest, a 48.6 percent limited partner interest, and 100 percent of the incentive distribution rights in Cheniere Queue, L.P., a publicly traded limited partnership that owns and operates the Sabine Pass LNG Terminal. The company has 100 percent ownership of the Corpus Christi LNG Terminal. As of February 20, 2026, the company had shipped over 4,610 cumulative LNG cargoes totaling over 315 million tonnes to over 40 countries and regions worldwide.
The company is pursuing disciplined growth through expansion projects including the Sabine Pass Liquefaction Expansion Project and the Corpus Christi Liquefaction Expansion Project, both in pre-final investment decision phases and subject to regulatory approvals and acceptable commercial and financing arrangements.
