The company employs approximately 17,000 people worldwide, including roughly 2,000 dedicated to research and development and 6,000 in manufacturing operations, with approximately 7,000 employees in the United States and 10,000 internationally.

The company's product portfolio includes significant orthopedic brands such as the Persona Knee, NexGen Knee Implants, Taperloc Hip System, and Avenir Complete Hip System, along with the ROSA Robot for surgical assistance. The S.E.T. category encompasses sports medicine, biologics, foot and ankle, upper extremities, trauma, and craniomaxillofacial products. The company also markets the ZBEdge Platform, connecting robotic and digital technologies to collect surgical data and deliver patient insights.

Zimmer Biomet's history dates to 1927 with the founding of Zimmer Manufacturing Company. The company was spun off as an independent public company in 2001 and acquired Biomet in 2015, adopting its current name. The company maintains extensive research and development facilities across multiple locations including Warsaw, Montreal, Denver, Jacksonville, Austin, Zug, and Beijing.
