The business

Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE: KMI) is one of the largest energy infrastructure companies in North America, operating an extensive network of pipelines, terminals, and related facilities that transport and store essential energy commodities. The company's website is www.kindermorgan.com.

As of December 31, 2025, Kinder Morgan owns interests in or operates approximately 78,000 miles of pipelines, 136 terminals, approximately 706 billion cubic feet of working natural gas storage capacity, and renewable natural gas generation capacity of approximately 6.9 billion cubic feet per year. The company's infrastructure transports natural gas, refined petroleum products, crude oil, condensate, carbon dioxide, renewable fuels, and other products, while its terminals store and handle gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, chemicals, petroleum coke, metals, ethanol, and other renewable fuels and feedstocks.

Kinder Morgan operates through four reportable business segments. The Natural Gas Pipelines segment includes interstate and intrastate pipelines, underground storage facilities, liquefied natural gas terminals, and natural gas liquids fractionation facilities, comprising approximately 42,000 miles of wholly owned natural gas pipelines and equity interests in approximately 25,000 miles of additional pipelines. The Products Pipelines segment consists of refined petroleum products, crude oil, and condensate pipelines along with associated terminals and processing facilities. The Terminals segment includes refined petroleum product, chemical, renewable fuel, and bulk terminal facilities, along with Jones Act-qualified product tankers providing marine transportation between U.S. ports. The CO2 segment produces, transports, and markets carbon dioxide for enhanced oil recovery, while also owning and operating oil and gas producing fields and renewable natural gas, liquefied natural gas, and gas-to-electric facilities.

The company's business strategy focuses on stable, fee-based energy transportation and storage assets central to North American energy infrastructure and U.S. exports. Kinder Morgan emphasizes long-term fixed contracts with customers, disciplined capital allocation, and operational excellence. The company maintains a diversified customer base with no single customer accounting for more than ten percent of consolidated revenues, reducing concentration risk while serving the critical energy infrastructure needs of North America.
