The company operates across multiple product categories serving light vehicles, commercial vehicles including on-highway and off-highway applications, and industrial markets. Garrett's turbocharger business represents the primary revenue source, with the company holding approximately 1,350 patents and patents pending. The company supplies products to more than 60 OEMs globally, with its top ten customers accounting for approximately 62 percent of net sales. OEM sales comprised approximately 86 percent of 2025 revenues, while aftermarket and other products contributed approximately 14 percent. Garrett maintains a strong aftermarket presence through a network of more than 370 distributors covering 165 countries, supported by an installed base of nearly 150 million vehicles.

As of December 31, 2025, Garrett employed approximately 6,700 employees globally, with approximately 1,330 engineers deployed across six research and development centers and ten close-to-customer engineering centers. The company maintains manufacturing facilities in seven low-cost countries including China, India, Mexico, Brazil, Romania, and Slovakia, with more than 89 percent of products manufactured in low-cost regions. Total research, development, and engineering expenses were $151 million in 2025, with approximately 50 percent focused on zero-emission technologies including electric powertrains and electric cooling compressors.

Garrett's competitive strengths include differentiated technology in turbocharging and emerging electric vehicle solutions, strong collaborative relationships with leading global OEMs, and a global low-cost manufacturing footprint with operational excellence. The company traces its roots to the 1950s and has maintained strategic relationships with key commercial vehicle manufacturers for over 70 years. The business strategy focuses on strengthening turbocharger leadership across light and commercial vehicles, leveraging differentiated technology for zero-emission vehicles and energy efficiency applications, and growing the aftermarket business through expanded distribution and product portfolio development.
