The company operates through four primary reportable segments: Transmission, Power & Gulf; Northeast G&P; West; and Gas & NGL Marketing Services, along with other operations including upstream ventures. The Transmission, Power & Gulf segment encompasses interstate natural gas pipeline operations through wholly owned subsidiaries Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Company, LLC (Transco) and Northwest Pipeline LLC (NWP), as well as natural gas gathering and processing assets, crude oil transportation infrastructure, and power innovation projects. The Northeast G&P segment focuses on natural gas gathering, compression, processing, and NGL fractionation in the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions. The West segment operates gathering and processing assets across multiple basins including the Wamsutter, Piceance, Haynesville Shale, and Denver-Julesburg formations. The Gas & NGL Marketing Services segment provides wholesale marketing, trading, and asset management services for natural gas and natural gas liquids.

Williams operates an extensive infrastructure network comprising over 32,000 miles of pipelines across 24 states and the Gulf of America, 35 natural gas processing facilities, 9 NGL fractionation facilities, approximately 23 million barrels of NGL storage capacity, and 423 Bcf of natural gas storage capacity. The company serves approximately 800 customers across diverse end markets including local distribution companies, utilities, industrial users, power generators, and producers. Williams' operations generated gathering and processing revenues from approximately 253 customers in 2025, with the top ten customers representing approximately 55 percent of gathering and processing fee revenues. The company's interstate natural gas pipeline customers include major utilities and distribution companies, with the top ten customers accounting for approximately 44 percent of regulated transportation and storage revenues. Founded in 1908 and reincorporated in Delaware in 1987, Williams has established itself as a critical infrastructure provider supporting the energy transition and reliable fuel delivery across North America.
