The business

TE Connectivity plc (NASDAQ: TEL) is a global industrial technology leader headquartered in Ireland that designs and manufactures connectivity and sensor solutions for diverse end markets worldwide. The company traces its connectivity business heritage back to 1941 and became an independent publicly traded company in 2007. In September 2024, TE Connectivity completed a change in jurisdiction of incorporation from Switzerland to Ireland. The company maintains its website at www.te.com.

TE Connectivity operates through two reportable segments: Transportation Solutions, which generated 54 percent of fiscal 2025 net sales, and Industrial Solutions, representing 46 percent of net sales. The Transportation Solutions segment serves the automotive market (75 percent of segment sales), commercial transportation (15 percent), and sensors (10 percent), providing terminals, connectors, heat shrink tubing, relays, and application tooling. The Industrial Solutions segment supplies products for digital data networks (28 percent of segment sales), automation and connected living (27 percent), aerospace, defense, and marine (19 percent), energy (17 percent), and medical applications (9 percent).

The company serves a combined addressable market of approximately $200 billion across roughly 130 countries. As of fiscal year end 2025, TE Connectivity employed approximately 93,000 people worldwide, including 13,000 contract employees, distributed across the Asia-Pacific region (34,000 employees), EMEA region (34,000 employees), and Americas region (25,000 employees). Approximately 55,000 employees work in manufacturing operations. The company maintains a strong geographic presence with net sales distributed across Asia-Pacific (38 percent), EMEA (33 percent), and Americas (29 percent).

TE Connectivity's competitive advantages include its broad product portfolio spanning electrical, optical, and electronic components; extensive patent and trademark portfolio; established relationships with leading manufacturers across industries; and global manufacturing and distribution infrastructure. The company sells primarily through direct sales channels representing approximately 75 percent of total net sales, with the remainder through third-party distributors. In fiscal 2025, the company acquired Richards Manufacturing Co., further expanding its capabilities. No single customer accounted for a significant portion of net sales in recent years, providing diversification across its customer base.
