Popular, Inc. (NASDAQ: POP) operates as a diversified financial holding company and the largest financial institution based in Puerto Rico. The company maintains its corporate presence at www.popular.com and serves as a bank holding company registered under the Bank Holding Company Act of 1956, subject to supervision by the Federal Reserve System.

The corporation operates through two principal markets. In Puerto Rico, Popular provides retail, mortgage, and commercial banking services through its principal subsidiary Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, which maintains the largest retail banking franchise in the Commonwealth. The Puerto Rico operations also offer auto and equipment leasing and financing, along with broker-dealer and insurance services through specialized subsidiaries. On the mainland United States, Popular Bank operates branches in New York, New Jersey, and Florida, providing retail and commercial banking services as well as equipment leasing and financing. Additionally, Banco Popular conducts banking operations in the U.S. Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands, offering loans and deposits to both retail and commercial customers.

As of December 31, 2025, Popular maintained consolidated assets of $75.3 billion, total deposits of $66.2 billion, and stockholders' equity of $6.2 billion, ranking among the 50 largest U.S. bank holding companies. The company employed 9,427 individuals across its operations.

Popular's lending activities concentrate in five primary areas: commercial loans including commercial and industrial lending and commercial real estate financing, residential mortgage loans, consumer loans encompassing personal loans and credit cards, construction loans, and lease financings. The loan portfolio demonstrates diversification across categories, with real estate-related loans comprising 52 percent of the total portfolio.

The corporation pursues a broad-based transformation initiative launched in 2022, investing significantly in technology, talent, and digital capabilities to enhance customer experience and generate sustainable profitable growth. This transformation includes modernization of customer channels, deployment of new credit origination platforms, and optimization of operations through efficiency initiatives. Popular targets a sustainable return on tangible common equity of 14 percent over the long term.
