The business

Everest Group, Ltd. (NYSE: EG) is a Bermuda-based reinsurance and insurance organization and a constituent of the Standard & Poor's 500 Index. The company operates through a global network spanning more than 100 countries across six continents, serving a diverse group of clients worldwide with extensive product and distribution capabilities supported by a strong balance sheet and innovative culture.

The company manages its business through two primary reportable segments: Reinsurance and Insurance, along with an Other segment for run-off operations. In 2025, Everest generated gross written premiums of $17.7 billion, with the Reinsurance segment accounting for approximately 72.4% of premiums and the Insurance segment representing 27.1%, with the remaining 0.5% from Other operations. The Reinsurance segment writes worldwide property and casualty reinsurance and specialty lines on both treaty and facultative bases through reinsurance brokers and direct relationships with ceding companies. The Insurance segment writes property and casualty insurance directly and through brokers, including surplus lines and general agents across North America, Europe, and international markets.

Everest's Reinsurance segment offers diverse products including property pro rata and excess of loss coverage, casualty reinsurance, financial lines, mortgage reinsurance, marine, aviation, engineering, professional lines, credit and surety, motor, agriculture, and political violence protection. The Insurance segment provides accident and health, specialty casualty, professional liability, property and short-tail, workers' compensation, and other specialty insurance products tailored for multinational corporations and mid-size commercial clients.

As of December 31, 2025, the company maintained shareholders' equity of $15.5 billion and total assets of $62.5 billion. Everest employed 3,064 persons as of February 1, 2026. All active operating subsidiaries maintain A+ ("Superior") financial strength ratings from A.M. Best Company. The company's underwriting strategy emphasizes disciplined underwriting, prioritizing profitability over volume while maintaining flexibility to respond to changing market conditions. In October 2025, Everest agreed to sell renewal rights for certain commercial retail insurance business lines to American International Group, sharpening the company's focus on its core global reinsurance and specialty insurance businesses.
