General Dynamics Corporation (NYSE: GD) is a global aerospace and defense company headquartered in the United States with operations across more than 65 countries. The company maintains its corporate website at gd.com and operates approximately 117,000 employees worldwide, with roughly 84 percent based in the United States.

General Dynamics operates through four primary business segments: Aerospace, Marine Systems, Combat Systems, and Technologies. The Aerospace segment, representing 25 percent of consolidated revenue, encompasses the Gulfstream and Jet Aviation business units, producing advanced business jet aircraft and providing comprehensive aircraft services including maintenance, repair, overhaul, and custom completion services. The company operates an extensive global network of approximately 30 fixed-base operator facilities across four continents and maintains service capabilities for more than 3,000 Gulfstream aircraft in service worldwide.

The Marine Systems segment accounts for 32 percent of revenue and represents the company's leading position in designing and building nuclear-powered submarines and surface combatants for the U.S. Navy. This segment comprises three business units: Electric Boat, Bath Iron Works, and NASSCO, collectively responsible for Columbia-class and Virginia-class submarine construction, Arleigh Burke-class destroyer production, and auxiliary vessel manufacturing.

Combat Systems contributes 17 percent of revenue through three business units focused on land combat solutions, including wheeled and tracked combat vehicles, weapon systems, munitions, and energetics. The segment produces foundational platforms including the Abrams main battle tank and Stryker wheeled combat vehicle, alongside advanced systems and ammunition capabilities.

The Technologies segment represents 26 percent of revenue and comprises two business units: Information Technology (GDIT) and Mission Systems. This segment delivers technology solutions, IT modernization services, cybersecurity capabilities, and command-and-control systems to military, intelligence, and federal civilian customers.

The U.S. government represents 68 percent of consolidated revenue, with the Department of War as the primary customer. Commercial customers account for 24 percent of revenue, while non-U.S. government and commercial customers represent 17 percent. The company maintains significant backlog across its defense programs, supporting long-term revenue visibility and operational continuity.
