DTE Energy Company (NYSE: DTE) operates as a diversified energy company serving approximately 3.7 million customers across Michigan and beyond through its regulated utility operations and non-utility energy businesses. The company maintains its principal website at www.dteenergy.com.

The company's core operations center on two major regulated utility subsidiaries: DTE Electric Company, which generates, purchases, distributes, and sells electricity to approximately 2.3 million customers in southeastern Michigan, and DTE Gas Company, which purchases, stores, transports, distributes, and sells natural gas to approximately 1.4 million customers throughout Michigan. DTE Electric operates a diverse generation portfolio including coal-fired plants, combined cycle natural gas facilities, nuclear generation, hydroelectric pumped storage, wind, and solar assets totaling approximately 12,414 megawatts of net generation capacity. DTE Gas maintains four underground storage fields with approximately 139 billion cubic feet of working gas storage capacity and operates approximately 21,000 miles of distribution mains.

Beyond its regulated utilities, DTE Energy operates through two additional segments. DTE Vantage develops and operates renewable energy projects, including gas recovery sites in ten states that convert methane from landfills and agricultural operations into electricity and pipeline-quality gas, while also providing custom energy solutions to industrial and commercial customers. The Energy Trading segment engages in physical and financial marketing of power, natural gas, and environmental commodities, serving utilities, distribution companies, and other energy market participants.

As of December 31, 2025, DTE Energy employed approximately 9,650 people, with approximately 4,850 represented by unions. The company's workforce comprises 26 percent women and 29 percent minorities. DTE Electric operates 702 distribution substations and maintains approximately 456,900 line transformers serving its southeastern Michigan territory through approximately 31,190 circuit miles of overhead distribution lines and 14,804 circuit miles of underground distribution lines.

The company is regulated by the Michigan Public Service Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and the Environmental Protection Agency, among other agencies. DTE Energy pursues carbon reduction goals targeting 65 percent emissions reductions by 2028, 85 percent by 2032, and 90 percent by 2040 from 2005 baseline levels, with net zero emissions targeted by 2050.
