The business

Corteva, Inc. (NYSE: CTVA) is a leading global provider of seed and crop protection solutions focused on the agriculture industry. The company maintains its business headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana and operates its website at http://investors.corteva.com. Corteva was incorporated in Delaware in March 2018 and became an independent, publicly traded company on June 1, 2019, following its separation from DowDuPont Inc.

The company operates through two primary business segments: Seed and Crop Protection. The Seed segment develops and supplies commercial seed combining superior germplasm with advanced traits to produce high yield potential for farmers worldwide. Major seed brands include Pioneer, Brevant, Dairyland Seed, Hoegemeyer, and Nutech, complemented by proprietary trait technologies such as ENLIST E3, PowerCore, and SMARTSTAX. The Crop Protection segment supplies products to protect crop yields against weeds, insects, disease, and other pests, with leading brands including ARYLEX, ENLIST weed control system, DELEGATE, and RADIANT, among others.

Corteva serves approximately 110 countries with a geographically diverse workforce of approximately 21,500 employees as of December 31, 2025. The company's employee base is distributed across North America (47 percent), Latin America (21 percent), EMEA (20 percent), and Asia-Pacific (12 percent). Approximately 2 percent of the United States workforce is unionized, while 13 percent of the global workforce participates in works councils and collective bargaining arrangements outside the United States.

The company's sales are seasonal, with approximately 60 percent generated in the first half of the calendar year, driven by northern hemisphere planting and growing seasons, and 40 percent in the second half, led by southern hemisphere seed sales. Corteva distributes its products through multiple channels including the Pioneer direct sales agency model, regional seed brands, retail storefronts, and third-party licensing arrangements.

The company maintains an extensive intellectual property portfolio comprising approximately 5,900 U.S. patents and 10,200 active patents outside the United States, along with approximately 11,900 trademark registrations. On October 1, 2025, Corteva announced its intent to separate its Seed and Crop Protection businesses into two standalone, publicly traded companies through a tax-free spin-off transaction.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
