The company operates through three reportable segments. The Advanced Safety and User Experience segment provides advanced software and services, intelligent sensors, and high-performance compute platforms. The Engineered Components Group segment provides connection systems, high-performance interconnects, and cable management and protection solutions. The Electrical Distribution Systems segment provides low voltage and high voltage power, signal, and data distribution solutions. In January 2025, Aptiv announced its intention to pursue a separation of the Electrical Distribution Systems business into a new, independent publicly traded company called Versigent, expected to be completed by April 1, 2026.

Aptiv is one of the largest vehicle technology suppliers globally, serving 25 of the world's largest automotive original equipment manufacturers, as well as leading aerospace and defense companies and global telecom operators. The company operates 139 major manufacturing facilities and 11 major technical centers utilizing a regional service model that enables efficient service from best-cost countries. Aptiv maintains a presence in 50 countries with approximately 20,700 scientists, engineers, and technicians focused on developing market-relevant product solutions.

As of December 31, 2025, Aptiv employed approximately 140,000 people, including 30,000 salaried employees and 110,000 hourly employees, with an additional contingent workforce of approximately 51,000. The workforce is distributed globally, with 50 percent in North America, 30 percent in Europe, Middle East and Africa, 15 percent in Asia Pacific, and 5 percent in South America. In 2025, Aptiv's products were found in 18 of the 20 top-selling vehicle models in the United States, 17 of the 20 in Europe, and 20 of the 20 in China. The company's ten largest customers accounted for approximately 56 percent of total net sales.
