The business

LeMaitre Vascular, Inc. (NASDAQ: LMTR) is a global provider of medical devices and human tissue cryopreservation services primarily used in the treatment of peripheral vascular disease, end-stage renal disease, and cardiovascular disease. The company develops, manufactures, and markets vascular devices targeting vascular surgeons and adjacent specialties including cardiac surgeons, general surgeons, and neurosurgeons. Founded in 1983 by vascular surgeon George D. LeMaitre, the company has grown through 25 complementary acquisitions combined with internal research and development.

LeMaitre's diversified portfolio comprises six product categories with twenty-four distinct product types, including biologic patches, vascular grafts, embolectomy catheters, carotid shunts, closure systems, and valve cutters. The company's biologic offerings, representing 53 percent of sales, include XenoSure patches, CardioCel and VascuCel patches, Artegraft bovine carotid arteries, Omniflow II biosynthetic grafts, and RestoreFlow allograft cryopreservation services. No single product type exceeds 20 percent of revenues. The company estimates the worldwide market for peripheral vascular devices exceeds nine billion dollars, with its addressable market approximately one billion dollars.

The company operates through a direct sales force comprising 160 sales representatives and export managers across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific, generating approximately 95 percent of net sales through direct-to-hospital channels. Headquarters are located in Burlington, Massachusetts, with primary manufacturing facilities there, plus specialized operations in North Brunswick, New Jersey for Artegraft production and Fox River Grove, Illinois for RestoreFlow allograft processing. Additional regional offices span Europe and Asia Pacific.

LeMaitre competes in niche segments under 400 million dollars in annual worldwide revenue, emphasizing differentiated features, consistent quality, and availability. The company's strategy focuses on direct sales force expansion, acquisition of complementary products, and obtaining regulatory approvals in new geographies. The company maintains ISO 13485 certification at its medical device manufacturing facilities and AATB accreditation for tissue processing operations.
