The business

Apollo Global Management, Inc. (NYSE: APO) is a high-growth, global alternative asset manager and retirement services provider founded in 1990. The company operates through three primary reportable segments: Asset Management, Retirement Services, and Principal Investing.

The Asset Management segment represents the company's largest business division, managing $938.4 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2025. This segment focuses on credit and equity investing strategies across multiple asset classes and geographies. The credit strategy, encompassing $749.2 billion of AUM, spans direct origination, asset-backed finance, opportunistic credit, and multi-credit investments. The equity strategy manages $189.2 billion of AUM across corporate private equity, hybrid value, secondaries, real estate equity, infrastructure, and clean transition equity investments. The Asset Management segment employs approximately 4,130 people, including employees from Bridge Investment Group Holdings Inc., which Apollo acquired in September 2025 to expand its real estate equity product offerings.

The Retirement Services segment operates through Athene Holding Ltd., a leading financial services company specializing in retirement savings products including fixed indexed annuities, fixed rate annuities, and payout annuities. Apollo provides asset management and advisory services to Athene through its consolidated subsidiary ISG and related entities.

The Principal Investing segment reflects Apollo's direct investments in the funds it manages, generating returns through realized performance fees and investment income.

Apollo's business model emphasizes a contrarian, value-oriented investment approach with downside protection and capital preservation. The company operates an integrated platform where investment teams collaborate across disciplines to identify opportunities across companies' capital structures. The firm generates revenue through management fees based on assets under management, capital solutions fees from underwriting and structuring activities, and performance-based incentive fees from fund realizations.

The company maintains a global presence with offices throughout the world and serves institutional and individual investors. Apollo's website is located at www.apolloglobal.com.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
