The fund invests in a mix of Fidelity U.S. equity, international equity, bond, and short-term funds, with the asset allocation shifting progressively toward a more conservative mix as the target retirement date of 2025 approaches and passes, eventually matching the allocation of the Fidelity Freedom Retirement Fund approximately 15 to 20 years after 2025. The adviser actively adjusts exposures relative to neutral allocations by up to 10% across major asset classes and may allocate up to 25% in aggregate to alternative asset classes including high-yield debt, floating rate debt, real estate debt, and emerging markets debt. Because the fund invests through underlying Fidelity funds rather than holding securities directly, its performance depends on the performance of those underlying funds.
