Fund profile
As filed in the prospectus · 2025 Q4
The iShares ESG Aware MSCI EAFE ETF (the Fund ) seeks to track the investment results of an index composed of large- and mid-capitalization developed market equities, excluding the U.S. and Canada that have positive environmental, social and governance characteristics as identified by the index provider while exhibiting risk and return characteristics similar to those of the parent index.
The fund tracks the MSCI EAFE Extended ESG Focus Index using representative sampling, holding a sample of developed-market equities (excluding the U.S. and Canada) screened for favorable environmental, social and governance characteristics while maintaining risk and return profiles similar to the parent MSCI EAFE Index. The index excludes tobacco, controversial weapons, civilian firearms, and certain fossil fuel producers, then applies quantitative optimization to maximize ESG exposure subject to matching the parent index's risk-return profile. Because the fund samples rather than holds all index constituents, its returns may diverge from the index.
