The business

TechnipFMC plc (NYSE: TFMC) is a leading technology provider to the traditional and new energy industries, delivering fully integrated projects, products, and services to clients worldwide. The company operates through two primary business segments: Subsea and Surface Technologies, which together serve major integrated oil companies, national oil companies, and independent exploration and production companies globally.

The Subsea segment provides integrated design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, fabrication, installation, and life-of-field services for subsea systems used in offshore oil and natural gas production. This division is distinguished by its proprietary iEPCI™ integrated engineering, procurement, construction, and installation model, which combines subsea production systems and subsea umbilicals, risers, and flowlines work scopes with installation capabilities. The segment also offers Subsea 2.0®, a configure-to-order product platform featuring pre-engineered modular architectures, along with subsea robotics through its Schilling Robotics business and digital solutions via the Subsea Studio™ platform. The Subsea segment operates a fleet of 16 specialized vessels for installation services.

The Surface Technologies segment designs, manufactures, and services fully integrated products and systems for onshore and shallow water exploration and production, including drilling systems, surface wellheads, production trees, stimulation equipment, flexible pipe, flowline products, separation systems, and standard pumps. This division serves both conventional and unconventional applications and increasingly supports carbon transportation and storage, hydrogen storage, and geothermal production.

TechnipFMC was formed in January 2017 through a merger of equals between FMC Technologies and Technip S.A., creating an integrated subsea leader. In February 2021, the company separated its Technip Energies business segment, which focused on downstream services, allowing TechnipFMC to concentrate on subsea and surface technologies. The company subsequently delisted from Euronext Paris in February 2022 to focus on a single New York Stock Exchange listing.

With approximately 22,000 employees and a global workforce of 25,407 including contractors, TechnipFMC maintains operations across multiple continents. The company is advancing its position in energy transition through its New Energy business, developing solutions for greenhouse gas removal, offshore floating renewables, and hydrogen applications. Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
