The company operates through a single reportable segment, with primary revenue derived from interest and fees on loans from credit card and other loan products, supplemented by contractual relationships with brand partners.

Bread Financial's product portfolio includes co-brand and private label credit cards, direct-to-consumer proprietary general purpose credit cards marketed under the Bread Cashback and Bread Rewards brands on the American Express network, Bread Pay installment loans and split-pay offerings serving over 1,400 small and medium-sized business retailers, and Bread Savings deposit products including certificates of deposit and high-yield savings accounts. The company's Bread Savings platform had grown to $8.5 billion in retail deposits as of December 31, 2025, representing 48 percent of total funding sources.

The company distinguishes itself through comprehensive data analytics, marketing capabilities, risk management expertise, and digital and mobile platform capabilities. Bread Financial maintains a diversified partner base across travel and entertainment, specialty apparel, health and beauty, jewelry, sporting goods, technology and electronics, and home and furniture industries. The company serves customers across all demographic segments from Generation Z through Baby Boomers, tailoring product offerings to match distinct consumer preferences and spending behaviors.
