Charles River Laboratories International, Inc. (NYSE: CRL) is a leading global drug development partner headquartered in Wilmington, Massachusetts, with operations spanning over 120 sites across more than 20 countries worldwide. The company's website is www.criver.com.

Founded in 1947 and incorporated in 1994, Charles River has evolved from its original core competency in laboratory animal medicine and science into a comprehensive non-clinical drug development services provider. Charles River operates through three reportable segments. The Research Models and Services segment, representing 21.1 percent of revenue, supplies purpose-bred research models including over 140 different stocks and strains of rodents, along with large research models such as non-human primates. This segment also provides research model services through offerings including Insourcing Solutions, Genetically Engineered Models and Services, and Research Animal Diagnostic Services, as well as Cell Solutions providing human donor-derived cellular materials. The Discovery and Safety Assessment segment comprises 59.8 percent of revenue and provides integrated drug discovery research, non-clinical development, and regulated safety testing services across all therapeutic modalities and regulatory requirements. The Manufacturing Solutions segment accounts for 19.1 percent of revenue and includes Microbial Solutions, which provides endotoxin testing, microbial detection, and identification services through brands including Endosafe, Celsis, and Accugenix, as well as Biologics Solutions offering testing services and contract development and manufacturing organization capabilities for cell and gene therapies.

The company's competitive advantages include its broad, scientifically differentiated portfolio spanning the entire non-clinical drug development process, deep scientific expertise across specialty areas, commitment to animal welfare and the three Rs initiative, superior quality standards, and scale as a comprehensive global partner. Charles River serves major pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, contract research organizations, academic institutions, and government agencies worldwide. In January 2026, the company acquired certain assets of K.F. (Cambodia) Ltd., a Cambodia-based non-human primate provider, further strengthening its vertically integrated supply operations.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
