The company also markets biosimilar versions of competitor products including WEZLANA and BKEMV. In 2025, the company generated total product sales of approximately $35.1 billion, with the United States representing 73 percent of revenues and rest of world accounting for 27 percent.

Amgen maintains a global presence in approximately 100 countries with significant sales and marketing operations concentrated in the United States and Europe. The company supplements its internal manufacturing network with third-party contract manufacturers and operates state-of-the-art biomanufacturing facilities in North Carolina and Ohio alongside traditional facilities in California, Rhode Island, Puerto Rico, and internationally in Ireland, the Netherlands, and Singapore. The company was incorporated in California in 1980 and became a Delaware corporation in 1987, having helped launch the biotechnology industry more than 45 years ago.

The company's competitive advantages include its extensive expertise in manufacturing complex biologics, a robust pipeline of potential first-in-class medicines, and established relationships with healthcare providers and payers globally. Amgen distributes substantially all U.S. sales through three major pharmaceutical wholesalers that collectively account for 77 percent of worldwide gross revenues. The company invests billions annually in research and development to advance its pipeline and maintain its position as an innovation leader in the biopharmaceutical industry.
