What Roblox Corp does
In the company’s own words
Roblox Corporation (NYSE: RBLX) operates an immersive gaming and creation platform that connects users and creators across more than 180 countries. The company's website is www.roblox.com.
The Roblox Platform comprises three core components: the Roblox Client, which allows users to explore immersive experiences; Roblox Studio, a free toolset enabling creators to build and publish content; and Roblox Cloud, the underlying services and infrastructure powering the platform. The company generated 127 million average daily active users during 2025, with users spending approximately 123.9 billion hours engaged on the platform annually. Users explore an average of over 24 different experiences per month.
The platform's economy centers on Robux, a virtual currency that users purchase and creators earn through multiple monetization channels. Creators generate earned Robux through in-experience purchases, the Creator Rewards Program launched in July 2025, advertising integration, intellectual property licensing, and avatar item sales. As of December 31, 2025, over 35,500 creators qualified for the Developer Exchange Program, with over 23,500 participating creators receiving fiat currency payments based on accumulated earned Robux. The platform hosts over 14 million active experiences and millions of marketplace items created by its community.
Roblox's competitive advantages stem from two reinforcing network effects: user-generated content that attracts more users, and social connections that drive organic growth through friend networks. The platform operates across multiple devices including iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, Chromebook, and select virtual reality hardware. Safety represents a core platform principle, with multi-layered moderation systems combining artificial intelligence and human review. The company implemented mandatory age-check systems beginning January 2026 to verify user ages before accessing chat features.
As of December 31, 2025, Roblox operated over 150,000 servers across 25 regional data centers distributed globally. Approximately 75 percent of the company's employees dedicate their efforts to maintaining, improving, and expanding the platform infrastructure and capabilities.
