Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ: CTAS) operates a diversified business providing products and services that help businesses maintain clean, safe, and professional facilities and workforces. The company serves more than one million customers across the United States, Canada, and Latin America through its website at www.cintas.com.
Founded in 1968, Cintas has evolved from its origins in uniform rental into a comprehensive facility services provider. The company operates through two primary reportable segments: Uniform Rental and Facility Services, which generated approximately 76.5 percent of total revenue, and First Aid and Safety Services, which contributed roughly 12.4 percent. The remaining revenue comes from Fire Protection Services and Uniform Direct Sales operations.
Cintas's Uniform Rental and Facility Services segment provides rental and servicing of uniforms, flame-resistant clothing, mats, mops, shop towels, restroom supplies, and related ancillary items. The First Aid and Safety Services segment offers first aid and safety products, workplace water services, automated external defibrillators, eye-wash stations, safety training, fire extinguishers, and sprinkler systems with alarm testing capabilities.
The company operates an extensive distribution network comprising approximately 12,500 local delivery routes, 484 operational facilities, and 12 distribution centers. Cintas employs approximately 48,100 employee-partners globally, with roughly 800 represented by labor unions. The company generated total revenue of $11.3 billion in fiscal 2026.
Cintas maintains competitive advantages through its local market presence, diversified customer base with no single customer representing more than one percent of revenue, and integrated service model. The company operates five manufacturing facilities for standard uniform production and sources finished products from numerous domestic and international suppliers, all required to comply with Cintas's vendor code of conduct.
In March 2026, Cintas announced an agreement to acquire UniFirst Corporation, a North American uniform and workwear provider, in a transaction valued at approximately $5.5 billion. The transaction was approved by UniFirst shareholders in June 2026 and is expected to close in the second half of calendar 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
