Celanese Corporation (NYSE: CE) is a global chemical and specialty materials company headquartered in Irving, Texas with operations across North America, Europe, and Asia. The company operates 51 global production facilities plus 20 strategic affiliate production facilities and employs 11,434 people worldwide. More information is available at investors.celanese.com.

Celanese traces its origins to 1918 when Swiss brothers Drs. Camille and Henri Dreyfus founded The American Cellulose & Chemical Manufacturing Company to produce cellulose acetate. The current Celanese was incorporated in 2004 and operates as a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange.

The company operates through two primary business segments: Engineered Materials and the Acetyl Chain. The Engineered Materials segment produces high-performance engineered polymers including ethylene acrylic elastomers, liquid crystal polymers, long-fiber reinforced thermoplastics, nylon compounds, polyoxymethylene, polypropylene compounds, thermoplastic elastomers, and ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. These materials serve automotive, medical, industrial, consumer electronics, construction, and energy storage applications. The segment operates through a project-based business model leveraging deep customer engagement and a global network of research and development centers and customer technology centers.

The Acetyl Chain segment is one of the world's largest producers of acetyl products and intermediate chemicals, including acetic acid, acetic anhydride, acetate esters, and vinyl acetate monomer. This segment also produces acetate tow for cigarette filters, emulsion polymers for paints and coatings, ethylene vinyl acetate polymers, and redispersible powders. Acetyl Chain products serve diverse industries including adhesives, automotive, coatings, construction, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and textiles.

Celanese maintains a portfolio of 17 strategic equity method affiliates and several consolidated investments that complement its global reach and technology portfolio. The company holds leading global market positions supported by differentiated business models, proprietary technology, large production capacity, and competitive cost structures. Key branded products include Vamac elastomers, VitalDose pharmaceutical polymers, Vectra and Zenite liquid crystal polymers, Celstran long-fiber reinforced thermoplastics, Celcon and Hostaform polyacetal, Hytrel thermoplastic elastomers, GUR ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, and various acetyl and emulsion polymer brands.
