The business

Sempra Energy (NYSE: SEM) is a holding company and leading utility growth business primarily focused on the largest economies in the United States, California and Texas. The company operates through three reportable segments: Sempra California, Sempra Texas Utilities, and Sempra Infrastructure. SDG&E operates 2,018 miles of transmission lines and 24,210 miles of distribution lines supporting 1.5 million electric customer meters. SoCalGas maintains 52,765 miles of distribution pipelines and operates four natural gas storage facilities with 137 billion cubic feet of working gas capacity.

Sempra Texas Utilities holds an 80.25% interest in Oncor Electric Delivery Company, a regulated electricity transmission and distribution utility serving over 4.1 million customers across more than 120 Texas counties, and a 50% interest in Sharyland Utilities, a regulated electric transmission utility in south Texas. Oncor operates approximately 145,000 circuit miles of transmission and distribution lines.

Sempra Infrastructure develops, constructs, operates and invests in energy infrastructure projects in the United States and Mexico, with focus areas including liquefied natural gas, energy networks and low carbon solutions. At December 31, 2025, Sempra held a 70% interest in Sempra Infrastructure Partners, with KKR Pinnacle holding 20% and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority holding 10%. SI Partners owns interests in LNG projects, pipeline infrastructure and other energy assets across multiple jurisdictions.

The company was formed in 1998 through a business combination of Enova Corporation and Pacific Enterprises, the holding companies of SDG&E and SoCalGas respectively, which trace their origins to 1881 and 1867. Sempra's website is www.sempra.com.
