The business

Warrior Met Coal, Inc. (NASDAQ: HCC) is a U.S.-based supplier of premium steelmaking coal headquartered in Brookwood, Alabama. The company operates as a pure-play hard coking coal producer dedicated entirely to mining and exporting non-thermal steelmaking coal for use in global steel production. More information is available at www.warriormetcoal.com.

The company operates three underground longwall mining operations in west central Alabama: Mine No. 4, Mine No. 7, and Blue Creek. These mines, located approximately 300 miles from the Port of Mobile in Alabama, extract steelmaking coal from depths of approximately 2,000 feet below the surface. Blue Creek commenced longwall operations in October 2025, ahead of schedule and on budget. The company's steelmaking coal is characterized by low sulfur content, high fluidity, and high strength, making it ideally suited for coking coal in steel manufacturing. Mine No. 7 produces low volatility coal that trades near the S&P Global Platts Index, while Mine No. 4 and Blue Creek produce high volatility A quality coal.

Warrior Met Coal produced 9.3 million metric tons of steelmaking coal in 2025. The company maintains estimated recoverable reserves of approximately 179.3 million metric tons across its three operating mines, with Blue Creek alone holding an estimated 40-year mine life. The company operates as a single reportable segment focused on steelmaking coal production and sales.

The company sells its premium hard coking coal to a diversified customer base of blast furnace steel producers primarily located in Asia, Europe, and South America. For 2025, geographic customer mix consisted of 48 percent Asia, 37 percent Europe, 14 percent South America, and 1 percent the United States. The company also operates natural gas operations that remove and sell natural gas from owned and leased coal seams.

Warrior Met Coal maintains a highly flexible cost structure with variabilized labor, royalties, and logistics contracts designed to protect profitability across commodity price cycles. The company's competitive advantages include its premium coal quality, logistical proximity to major export terminals, experienced management team, and commitment to environmental stewardship including methane capture initiatives and water conservation programs.
