The business

Hut 8 Corp. (Nasdaq: HUT) operates as an energy infrastructure platform that integrates power, digital infrastructure, and compute at scale to support next-generation, energy-intensive technology applications. The company's website is located at hut8.com.

The company was formed through a business combination completed on November 30, 2023, between U.S. Data Mining Group, Inc. (doing business as "US BITCOIN"), Hut 8 Mining Corp., and a newly-formed Delaware corporation. This combination created a vertically integrated platform spanning three core layers: Power, Digital Infrastructure, and Compute.

Hut 8's Power layer comprises 1,020 megawatts of energy capacity under management across 15 sites in the United States and Canada, including owned, leased, and operated energy assets such as powered land, interconnects, substations, and switchyards. The Digital Infrastructure layer consists of five ASIC compute data centers, five traditional cloud and colocation data centers, and one non-operational ASIC compute site, with an additional AI data center under development at the River Bend campus in Louisiana targeting 330 megawatts of utility capacity.

The Compute layer operates three primary brands: American Bitcoin, a majority-owned subsidiary focused on industrial-scale ASIC compute and Bitcoin accumulation; Hut 8 Canada, providing cloud infrastructure and colocation services to over 200 customers across five Canadian data centers; and Highrise AI, an AI cloud platform offering bare-metal infrastructure for AI model training and deployment.

The company reports across three core operating segments—Power, Digital Infrastructure, and Compute—plus an Other segment capturing non-core activities. As of December 31, 2025, Hut 8 employed 248 full-time employees in the United States and Canada. The company maintains a development pipeline of approximately 8,500 megawatts of capacity across various stages of diligence, exclusivity, development, and construction.

Hut 8's strategy emphasizes a power-first, innovation-driven approach to infrastructure development, leveraging deep expertise in power origination, grid interconnection, and greenfield development to create a defensible competitive advantage in the supply-constrained energy infrastructure market.
