Sysco Corporation (NYSE: SYY) operates as the global leader in selling, marketing and distributing food and related products to customers who prepare meals away from home. The company maintains its website at www.sysco.com and serves restaurants, healthcare and educational facilities, lodging establishments, entertainment venues and similar foodservice operations across North America and Europe.

Founded in 1969 and operating as a public company since 1970, Sysco has grown from $115 million in initial sales to $84.6 billion in annual sales during fiscal 2026. The company operates 333 distribution facilities throughout North America and Europe and employs approximately 75,000 people globally, including 52,000 U.S. employees and 23,000 international employees. Approximately 99 percent of U.S.-based colleagues are classified as full-time employees.

Sysco's business is organized into three reportable segments. U.S. Foodservice Operations, representing approximately 70 percent of total sales, includes broadline operations distributing a full line of food products and specialty operations encompassing fresh produce, specialty proteins, Italian imports, restaurant equipment and supplies, and Asian specialty distribution. International Foodservice Operations includes distribution operations in Canada, the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Panama, the United Kingdom, France, Ireland and Sweden. SYGMA comprises customized distribution operations serving quick-service chain restaurant locations. The company also operates Guest Worldwide, a hotel supply business.

Sysco distributes frozen and fresh meats, seafood, produce, dairy products, canned and dry foods, beverage products, imported specialties and a wide variety of non-food items including paper products, tableware, cookware and cleaning supplies. The company estimates it serves approximately 18 percent of the approximately $377 billion annual U.S. foodservice market. Restaurants account for approximately 59 percent of sales, with education and government, healthcare and travel and leisure comprising 8 percent, 8 percent and 7 percent respectively.

The company maintains significant competitive advantages through its diversified product base including quality-assured Sysco brand products, service reliability, ancillary customer services such as menu planning and food safety training, and multi-regional presence. Sysco purchases from thousands of suppliers, with approximately 90 percent of U.S. Foodservice Operations products purchased domestically. The company holds important trademarks including SYSCO and Brakes brands.
