The business

Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: BWC) operates as a globally-focused energy technologies provider with nearly 160 years of experience delivering diversified energy and emissions control solutions to industrial, electrical utility, municipal and other customers worldwide. The company supports global energy needs and baseload power demand by providing advanced technologies that utilize coal, natural gas, hydrogen, waste and biomass to produce energy, environmental solutions and carbon capture systems. B&W's core offerings include complete steam generation systems such as package boilers, watertube and firetube waste heat boilers, and specialized industrial energy production technologies including hydrogen and syngas generation. The company maintains an extensive global installed base of steam generation equipment and provides comprehensive aftermarket services including parts, construction, maintenance, engineered upgrades and field services for both its own equipment and that of other original equipment manufacturers.

Approximately 300 hourly employees are union-affiliated across facilities in Mexico, the United States and Canada. The company operates manufacturing facilities in multiple countries and serves customers across more than 90 countries globally.

In the fourth quarter of 2025, B&W reassessed its segment structure following completion of a strategic shift to streamline and simplify its business, which included divestiture of certain non-core assets. The company now operates as a single reportable segment labeled B&W. The company's business depends significantly on capital, operations and maintenance expenditures of global electric power generating companies and industrial facilities with environmental compliance requirements. Key customer markets include utilities and power generation, artificial intelligence data centers, and various industrial sectors including oil and gas, refining, petrochemical, food processing and metals.

B&W's competitive advantages derive from its extensive technical expertise, proven platforms for fuel conversion to steam, strong brand recognition and substantial installed base globally. The company competes with numerous domestic and foreign companies on bases including price, technical capabilities, quality, timeliness of performance and breadth of products and services offered.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.
