The business

Teradyne, Inc. (NASDAQ: TER) is a leading global provider of automated test equipment and robotics solutions headquartered in Massachusetts. The company operates through three primary reportable segments: Semiconductor Test, Robotics, and Product Test, serving customers across consumer electronics, wireless, automotive, industrial, computing, communications, and aerospace and defense industries. The company website is www.teradyne.com.

The Semiconductor Test segment designs and manufactures test systems for semiconductors, hard disk drives, and solid state disks used in artificial intelligence, automotive, industrial, and consumer applications. This segment serves integrated device manufacturers, fabless companies, foundries, and semiconductor assembly and test providers. The company's FLEX Test Platform architecture enables high-efficiency multi-site testing, while the J750 system addresses high-volume semiconductor devices and the Magnum platform serves memory device testing across flash, DRAM, and high bandwidth memory markets.

The Robotics segment comprises collaborative robotic arms marketed under the Universal Robots brand and autonomous mobile robots under the Mobile Industrial Robots brand. Universal Robots has sold over 110,000 cobots worldwide since introducing the first commercially viable cobot in 2008, while the company has sold over 11,000 autonomous mobile robots globally. These products serve manufacturing and logistics customers seeking improved efficiency and reduced costs.

The Product Test segment provides test equipment and services for high-performance electronic and photonic assemblies, serving customers in high-performance computing, data centers, automotive, industrial, defense, aerospace, and consumer electronics sectors.

As of December 31, 2025, Teradyne employed approximately 6,600 employees globally, with significant operations in the Philippines, Denmark, Costa Rica, China, and Taiwan. The company maintains manufacturing operations primarily through subcontractors in Malaysia for test businesses and dedicated production facilities in Denmark and the United States for robotics. Sales to customers outside the United States represented 89 percent of consolidated revenues. In 2025, the company's five largest direct customers accounted for 44 percent of consolidated revenues, reflecting the concentrated nature of the test equipment market. Recent acquisitions include Quantifi Photonics in 2025 and Infineon's automated test equipment technology, strengthening capabilities in photonic integrated circuit testing and semiconductor test development.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
