The Real Assets Group manages equity and debt strategies across real estate and infrastructure investments, with vertically-integrated operating platforms and a recent acquisition of GLP Capital Partners' international business expanding logistics and digital infrastructure capabilities. The Secondaries Group invests in secondary markets across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and credit strategies. The Private Equity Group deploys capital across market environments with focus on organic and inorganic growth and operational expertise.

Ares also operates other businesses including Ares Insurance Solutions, strategic investments through company-sponsored SPACs, and a venture capital business focused on growth-stage companies and applied artificial intelligence. The company's business model emphasizes management fees earned from advisory services, performance income from carried interest and incentive fees, and investment income from portfolio holdings.

The firm was founded in 1997 and has achieved compound annual AUM growth of 26% over the past five years and 21% over the past decade.
