The business

TransDigm Group Incorporated (NYSE: TDG) operates as a leading global designer, producer and supplier of highly engineered aircraft components critical to the safe and effective operation of commercial and military aircraft worldwide. The company's products are represented in nearly every commercial and military aircraft in service today, with approximately 90% of net sales generated by proprietary products. The company maintains its website at www.transdigm.com.

TransDigm operates through three reportable segments: Power & Control, Airframe, and Non-aviation. The Power & Control segment develops systems and components providing power to or controlling power of aircraft through electronic, fluid, power and mechanical motion control technologies, including actuators, ignition systems, specialized pumps and valves, motors and generators, and cargo handling systems. The Airframe segment produces non-power airframe applications including latching devices, connectors, sealing solutions, cockpit security components, displays, safety restraints, parachutes, and testing equipment. The Non-aviation segment serves markets beyond aerospace, including ground transportation seat belts, space applications, land-based gas turbines, and energy sector products.

Approximately 55% of fiscal year 2025 net sales derived from the aftermarket, which typically generates higher gross profit and greater stability than original equipment manufacturer sales. The company's customer base spans commercial airlines, large commercial transport and regional aircraft manufacturers, defense original equipment manufacturers, and various armed forces of the United States and friendly foreign governments. The top ten customers accounted for approximately 40% of net sales, with no single customer representing more than 10% of revenues.

As of September 30, 2025, TransDigm employed approximately 16,500 full-time, part-time and temporary employees, with approximately 15% represented by labor unions. The company has pursued a selective acquisition strategy since its inception in 1993, completing 95 business acquisitions and various product line purchases. This acquisition-driven growth strategy, combined with the company's three core value drivers of obtaining profitable new business, improving cost structure, and providing highly engineered value-added products, has established TransDigm as a diversified aerospace components supplier with significant aftermarket revenue streams and long product life cycles exceeding 50 years.

Fund ownership counts N-PORT filers only, so it is a floor rather than a census — pensions, insurers and direct holders are not visible here, and the remainder is not “held by individuals”.

Fund ownership is a subset of institutional 13F ownership — the two describe overlapping populations and must not be added together.
