The business

PACCAR Inc (Nasdaq: PCAR) is a multinational commercial vehicle manufacturer headquartered in the United States with a global presence spanning North America, Europe, Australia, and South America. The company traces its origins to Seattle Car Manufacturing Company, founded in 1905, and operates as the successor to Pacific Car and Foundry Company. PACCAR's website is www.paccar.com.

The company operates three primary business segments. The Truck segment, representing 68 percent of revenues, designs and manufactures high-quality light-, medium-, and heavy-duty commercial trucks marketed under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, and DAF nameplates. These vehicles are produced across multiple manufacturing facilities, including four plants in the United States, three in Europe, and additional facilities in Australia, Brazil, Canada, and Mexico. The company also manufactures diesel engines at facilities in Columbus, Mississippi; Eindhoven, the Netherlands; and Ponta Grossa, Brazil. The Parts segment, accounting for 24 percent of revenues, distributes aftermarket parts through 21 strategically located parts distribution centers and over 350 TRP-branded stores across 99 countries. The Financial Services segment, comprising 8 percent of revenues but representing 51 percent of total assets, provides financing and leasing products through PACCAR Financial Services operating in 26 countries under the PACCAR Financial and PacLease trade names.

As of December 31, 2025, PACCAR employed approximately 25,900 people, with roughly 40 percent based in the United States. The company competes in highly competitive markets with four principal competitors in North America and six in Europe. PACCAR maintains significant vertical integration, particularly through its DAF subsidiary, while also maintaining long-term supply agreements with major component suppliers including Cummins, Eaton, ZF, and Magna International.

The company is committed to environmental leadership and sustainability, with all manufacturing facilities ISO 14001 certified and more than 80 percent achieving zero waste-to-landfill status. PACCAR invests substantially in research and development for alternative powertrain technologies, including battery-electric, hydrogen combustion, and hybrid vehicles, alongside traditional diesel engine efficiency improvements and biofuel certification programs.
