The company operates through a comprehensive portfolio of ion beam, laser annealing, metal organic chemical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition, advanced packaging lithography, single wafer wet processing, molecular beam epitaxy, and atomic layer deposition technologies. These systems address critical materials engineering challenges in the fabrication of advanced semiconductors, photonics devices, data storage components, and other specialized applications enabling artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, 5G communications, and emerging technologies.

Veeco serves four primary end-markets: Semiconductor, Compound Semiconductor, Data Storage, and Scientific & Other. The Semiconductor segment encompasses logic and memory applications, advanced packaging solutions, and extreme ultraviolet lithography mask production. The Compound Semiconductor market includes power electronics, photonics, radio frequency filters and amplifiers, and solar applications. Data Storage focuses on hard disk drive magnetic head manufacturing. The company's customer base comprises leading semiconductor integrated device manufacturers, foundries, outsourced semiconductor assembly and test providers, and research institutions globally.

The company maintains a global workforce of 1,265 employees across 13 countries as of December 31, 2025, with significant operations in the United States, Asia-Pacific region, and Europe. Approximately 25 percent of employees work in research and development, 56 percent in operations and manufacturing, and 19 percent in sales, marketing, and administrative functions. The company operates research and development facilities in San Jose, California; Plainview, New York; Horsham, Pennsylvania; Somerset, New Jersey; St. Paul, Minnesota; and Waltham, Massachusetts.

Veeco maintains approximately 350 patents in the United States and other countries protecting its proprietary technologies. The company generates approximately 85 percent of revenue from non-U.S. customers and maintains comprehensive sales and service operations across Asia-Pacific, Europe, and North America regions.
