CME Group Inc. (NASDAQ: CME) operates as a leading global derivatives marketplace and central counterparty clearing provider. The company's website is cmegroup.com.

CME Group enables clients worldwide to trade futures, options, cash and over-the-counter products while providing clearing, settlement and market data services. The company operates through its derivatives exchange business, derivatives clearing business, securities clearing business, cash markets business and data services business.

The derivatives exchange business offers the widest range of global benchmark products across interest rates, equity indexes, foreign exchange, and agricultural, energy and metals commodities. Products include SOFR and U.S. Treasury futures, E-mini equity index contracts, major currency pairs and commodity contracts. These products trade primarily through CME Globex, the company's electronic trading platform. In 2025, CME Group futures and options achieved record average daily volume of 28.1 million contracts.

Through its derivatives clearing house operated by CME, the company provides clearing and settlement services for exchange-traded futures and options, exchange-traded swaps and OTC derivatives. The clearing business generated significant revenue from clearing and transaction fees, with one clearing firm representing twelve percent of clearing revenue in 2025.

The cash markets business comprises BrokerTec and EBS, acquired through the NEX acquisition. BrokerTec operates global electronic trading for fixed income and money market products with leading positions in cash U.S. Treasuries, European Government Bonds and repo markets. EBS provides trading of global foreign exchange products and spot precious metals. These cash markets businesses generated $283.7 million in clearing and transaction fees during 2025.

The data services business offers proprietary real-time and historical market data, derived pricing, alternative data sets and analytic tools. CME Group distributes leading benchmark indices and administers CME Term SOFR through its UK-regulated subsidiary, CME Benchmark Administration Limited.

In December 2025, CME Securities Clearing Inc. received SEC approval to become a securities clearing agency, with planned launch of services in 2026 for U.S. Treasury and repo transactions. The company maintains a strategic partnership with Google Cloud to migrate core applications and eventually move trading markets to cloud infrastructure. CME Group's membership base includes professional traders, financial institutions, corporations, governments and central banks globally.
